1 John 4:7
This verse (among many others) has really been on my heart lately. The passage goes on to say: "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another."
1 John 4:7-11 is the passage that my younger siblings have been memorizing lately, so hearing it more has helped me to really listen to what is says. I find myself quoting verse 8 over and over in my head through out the day... "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
It's so hard sometimes to remember to love, to really love one another with the kind of love that God has for us, but I find this passage very helpful in that area. I think it's really neat how God will give us a certain verse or passage to read and think about just at the right time, do you know what I mean? God is so good!

Genesis 9:16
The rainbow was in the east, and the sunset photo below was taken 3 minutes after, and of course, in the west... :-)

1 Corinthians 13:1-13
“If I speak in the tongues of men and angels, but have not love, I am only a re-sounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have the faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child; I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now I see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.1 Corinthians 13:1-13

Psalms 23:1-6
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Psalms 105:1-5
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make knownamong the nations what he has done. Sing to him,
sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who
seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength seek his face always.
Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles,
and the judgments he pronounced…
Psalm 105: 1-5
